Mirror Lake

We went up to the Mirror Lake area in the Uintahs the weekend before the 24th! We thought it wouldn't be too busy, apparently so did everyone else! As we were driving looking for a place to camp Cache decided to keep himself busy by playing with his snacks!
The lake was beautiful and the temperature was perfect!
Here are the three wise fishermen I guess?! They caught several fish, but all of them were too small to keep! Cache is getting better at using his pole! In fact you don't want to be in his line of sight or you can easily get hit with the fish at the end of his pole! I was hit in the face from clear across the room, and it hurts pretty bad!

After a couple hours of fishing Cache decided he wanted to go wading! I was suprised he lasted that long!

He sat here and threw rocks and pretended to be a frog Ree-but, Ree-but!

You can't really tell by this pic, but Cache decided to roast mini marshmellows! It definitely makes the bag last much longer than the big ones! He went through ten or so in a matter of minutes!

On the way home Cache wasn't tired at all! This is what he does when he doesn't want you to know he is sleeping!

We had a great time all weekend long! It is a lot easier to tame a wild beast in the mountains:)! No, we did not get rained on since everyone keeps asking me! The weather was absolutely perfect!

Camping

While Brandon was home we went camping up Diamond Fork Canyon! It was so nice to be away from everything! Cache was in heaven with all the dirt! He got a new fishing pole which was the highlight of the whole adventure! I felt a little redneck fishing in the dirt from my camp chair without any water! We did go fishing at Strawberry one day. Cache helped grandpa reel in a big fish and loved every minute of it! He was also very excited about his new sleeping bag and sleeping in the tent! Oh, if life were so simple. While we were packing Cache was playing with the matches in the garage. I thought to myself he shouldn't be playing with those, oh well, he can't light them right?! Next thing I know he is saying HOT! and I look over and sure enough he lit one! We then had to have the discussion of only lighting matches with the help of momma, and dadda! Needless to say the rest of the campout he was all over the matches! It was a great trip and I hope to do some more this summer!

Happy Birthday!!!

We decided to celebrate Cache's second birthday with a bbq before Brandon left to go back home. It turned out nice and we missed those who were not able to make it. We made a hot dog and french fries cake for him. He loves hot dogs, everytime we go to Grandpa's he wants to roast a hot dog. For the next 5 days after his party Cache would randomly say, "Grandpa light matches...Cache blow out candles(then make blowing motions and sounds).....Momma pull them out....Sing birthday to you!"

He really enjoyed all of his presents. He decided to read his new books in between opening his presents. Ginger and Rotten gave him some candy in his present and he didn't care about anything else after that. He carried it around in a little blue bag for the rest of the night!

Here is his birthday loot! Minus his new trampoline(It is a little big to put in the pic)! Thanks to everyone for all the fun stuff!

Here is Cache the next day painting the house! He is really enjoying his painter set that Mat and Steph gave him!

Happy Birthday to our sweet little Cache Man on June 8th! I can't believe he is two already! What great joy he brings to our lives!

CONCRETE!!

Cache is a true Wilson now! He helped Daddy with his first concrete job! We went down to see Daddy for the week while he poured in a mow strip for our friend Alan. Cache was pretty excited to see Grandpa pull up with the mixer and watch it go round and round. After pouring the first little section Cache was following Rich and stuck one foot in the wet mud and tumbled in from there! I picked him up out of it then proceeded to take a couple of pictures!(I know bad mom) Then I hosed him off! Luckily his swim trunks were in the car! The swim trunks worked well since Cache became a big help with the hose. In fact Alan nicknamed him Water Dog Wilson!Cache was becoming a little too much help so we went to Daddys car and played for a few!

Cache was a big help giving daddy the tools and helping edge the concrete. He wasn't so keen on having his feet in concrete after he sat down and was helping smooth it out (or making more work for Rich)!

Every good concrete job needs a foreman! Cache decided to make sure Rich was doing it right, Not to mention making sure the Dew was of the highest quality. Cache found a little garden frog and carried him around for awhile. He even kicked back on the curb with his froggie and watched daddy finish up the job!

Sometimes after a long days work you just have to walk away!

Grandpa's Garden

This year instead of planting a garden ourselves we decided to help Grandpa with his and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Cache was a really big help walking everywhere he shouldn't!Cache was very excited about planting the potatoes. He started swinging his potatoe around by the root until it broke off and his "tato" went flying!
Cache helped daddy plant Grandmas peas by throwing them by the handful in the holes!

We were going to fill Grandmas hammock with water, but decided to just keep watering the garden instead! Maybe next time!

Cache hard at work holding the corn and eating yummy strawberries! Boy, it sure is hard work planting a garden!

Apparently it was really hard work. It took Cache about 2 minutes to fall asleep after getting in the car!

Animals at the ZOO!!

We decided to take our little animals to the Zoo! Cache wanted to "CLIMB" and "PET" all of the animals. In fact he lost his shoe over the Zebra fence, but luckily Grandma saved the day and scooped it out with her glasses!
Cache really loved riding the zoo train. He asked for more as soon as we got off!

Cache finally found his love in the small animal and reptile building...bars to climb on. He went wild running around and climbing all over the bars. He was excited to get close to the lizards and the meerkats!

Grandma let Maddy go unsupervised with some fruit snacks which ended up with one on each side of her head! I guess that is one way of saving them for later!
After we ate lunch at TGI Fridays we decided to head back to the Zoo to ride the carousel. The kids were out before we got back so we decided to do a lap around the parking lot and go home!

It was a great day overall! Cache really enjoyed himself with all the animals! Next time we will have to make sure to get a picture of Steph and Xander(somehow they managed to escape)!
